The WICEN NSW 2024 AGM is to be held on Saturday 10th August, 1400 hours at ARNSW in Quarry Rd DURAL.
Details will be emailed to members this month and members will also be able to join the meeting online.
It would be great if there were some new members join the committee, as some of the existing committee have been doing the jobs for many years.

Last weekend on 3rd September saw WICEN NSW have its Annual General Meeting.

Last Sunday saw WICEN provide communications support for Dementia Australia’s Sydney Memory Walk and Jog. The event started and finished at Leichhardt Oval and took in the Bay Run athletic track. Three WICEN NSW members attended. A VHF repeater was deployed at Rod Park and eleven VHF hand held radios were distributed to the event organisers. 200 to 300 people participated, with the event being incident free.

WICEN NSW is a communications support squad of VRA Rescue NSW.

The 70cm repeater that was previously at Berowa is now back on air in Hornsby on the same frequencies. However, it is not linked to the Kurrajong 70cm repeater at present.

This weekend saw a number of WICEN Operators assist with this year’s JOTA. These included, Compton VK2HRX, Mark VK2MOH, Richard VK2SKY, Nicholas VK2MYK, Raffy VK2RF, Irene VK2VAN and Jan VK2FEB. Thanks also to James VK2GOH for organising the WICEN operators to assist with the JOTA weekend.
