WICEN will have a stand at the CCARC's Wyong Field Day, on Sunday 26th
of February. This is a convenient place to pay your for your
membership, or to join.

WICEN NSW News for Sunday, 16th October 2011
WICEN's support of the BWRS Barrington Tops Search and Rescue
Exercise, SAREX continues today. This is a multi-agency exercise,
built around the search for the missing aircraft VH-MDX, the only
civilian aircraft which remains missing on mainland Australia.
Saturday's Daily Telegraph had an article on the Search, the online

WICEN NSW News for Sunday 2nd September 2011
A regular event WICENs support is the BWRS Barrington Tops Search and
Rescue Exercise, SAREX. This is a multi-agency exercise, built around
the search for the missing aircraft VH-MDX. This year it is scheduled
for the 15th and 16th of Oct. If you are interested in assisting
please contact WICEN.
WICEN ACT has a car rally and a long distance bike ride coming up at
the end of October, and Rallye des Femme in December.

WICEN NSW Inc Member Update March 2011
Training
WICEN NSW Inc is reviewing the various options we have available for training our members in
emergency communication techniques. This was discussed at our recent State committee meeting in
Feb 2011.
At this stage we are cautious about the WIA course and believe it may not meet the
requirements the Volunteer Rescue Association, (VRA) has for

There are no more scheduled events for the year. This however does not mean members can become complacent. The summer period has traditionally been a time for activations. Members should ensure that their equipment is working and that they are ready in case WICEN is needed.
For those who use Facebook, there is a "WICEN" group. Search for "WICEN" in the site.
Members are reminded to update their contact details if they move, change phone numbers or change their email address.

This week is the 30th running if the world famous Shahzada Horse Enduro
in the St Albans area north of Sydney.
In December VK1 WICEN will be supporting the Brindabella Motor Sports
Club's "Rallye des Femme", described as an event for Lady Drivers.
