There will be a WICEN check in net tomorrow evening, that is, Monday 9 January, run from La Perouse, with back up from Dural. The expected timetable is:

1930: On the 147.150 Mhz Chatswood Repeater, requiring a 91.5 Hz tone.
1940: On the 147.150 MHz Heaton Repeater, south of Newcastle, needing 123 Hz
1950: On 147.500 MHz simplex
2000: On 3600 kHz in the 80m band, +/- QRM.

A training day is planned for Sunday, February 19, here at ARNSW in Dural. Topics are yet to be finalised, but a session on voice procedures run by Eric VK2VE is planned. Members can request content.

On Sunday, February 26th, WICEN will be represented at the CCARC Field Day, an event to which the adage that "many hands make light work" applies.

February 26th is also the first of a series of Memory Walk and Jog events, in this case at North Wollongong. March 12th is the Penrith walk.

The BWRS Navshied has new dates, these being the 24th and 25th of June.

The data used to generate the agenda can also be used to add these events to your own calendar: Google Calendars users do this by clicking "Add by URL" under the "Other calendars" drop-down. This iCal feed URL, available in the text editions of this News, can also be used to add it to an iOS device by finding "Mail, Contacts and Calendars," in the Settings, and clicking "Add Account".

Northern Rivers region have a weekly net on Tuesdays at 8:00pm summer time, on the Lismore repeater VK2RSC on 146.8 MHz, requiring a 123 Hz tone. Listen for VK2WIR. The associated Summerland ARC will be supporting the Great Eastern Fly-In, from January 6th to 8th, 2017 at Evans Head.

WICEN ACT is part of the Canberra Region Amateur Radio Club, and supports events in the ACT and the surrounding "Capital Country". Foundation courses, and exams for all levels, are provided by the Club, the next being the 21st and 22nd of this month, with bookings required ASAP. WICEN Victoria holds a net every Tuesday at 2030 on or near 3.6 MHz. Their next events are a Fun Run on the Mornington Peninsula on January 26, and the Field Weekend at Yea is on March 4th and 5th Their website is: http://vic.wicen.org.au
