WICEN NSW continues to support the various Dementia Australia Walk and Jog events. The last is the Sydney event, at Leichhardt Oval #3, Lilyfield, around Iron Cove, on May 19th.

Navshield will be held somewhere in the greater Sydney region, on the 22nd and 23rd of June. While WICEN provides communication support for this bush navigation contest, WICEN can also enter the event, if there are members willing to do so.

True Grit, an obstacle course running event, is the 1st and 2nd of June; and the OCR World Championship 24 Hour is the following weekend, the 8th and 9th of June, both at Lower Portland, in outer NW Sydney. The Glow Worm Marathon at Newnes is the 15th and 16th of June.

September 14th and 15th is the Kangaroo Valley - Remexio Partnership's Trek for Timor. See:

The Houndslow Classic is September the 28th and 29th, in the Blue Mountains.

For Facebook users, there is an official WICEN NSW page; and an informal national WICEN group.

While the Northern Rivers Region has now been wound up, amateurs in the region are encouraged to support WICEN NSW, through individual membership.

The WICEN Mid North Coast Region monthly meeting is held on the first Saturday of the month, at SES HQ, Central Road, Port Macquarie, beginning at 15:30. The region runs an HF net on Thursday evenings at 19:00, on the WICEN frequency, 3.600 MHz.

WICEN ACT is part of the Canberra Region Amateur Radio Club, and supports events in the "Capital Country" region, and on the South Coast. Friday May 10th and Saturday 11th are the BMSC Netier National Capital Rally. The SCSCC Bega Rally is the 8th and 9th of June, while the NSSCC "Rally of the Bay" at Bateman's Bay is the 29th. August 6th is the BMSC Narooma Rally. The ACTERA Brookvale Horse Endurance Ride is September 2nd and 3rd, on the NW border of the Territory. For more info, visit

WICEN Victoria will be supporting the Kenda Rally, a motorcycle endurance event at Eildon, today. The Mallee Rally has been cancelled. The Eureka Rally is August 24th and 25th, around Ballarat.
