Saturday, May 5th is Trek for Timor - Kangaroo Valley, raising funds for student housing and scholarships, assisting rural students studying in Dili. See:

WICEN is supporting four Dementia Australia Memory Walk and Jog events, each held on a Sunday morning. The remaining ones are: "The Bay Run", commencing at Leichhardt Oval #3, Lilyfield next Sunday; and the Hunter event at Speers Point Park, on May 25th. These are great "on-the-job" training events for new members.

The recce for the VH-MDX "Barrington SAREX" in mid September will be on the weekend of the 19th and 20th.

True Grit, on the 2nd and 3rd of June will be followed by the Obstacle Course Racing World Championship on Friday 8th and Saturday 9th, both at Lower Portland, north-west Sydney.

Navshield, a bush navigation contest held within 4 hours' drive of Sydney, is on June 23rd and 24th.

WICEN Northern Rivers has a weekly net on Tuesdays at 8:00pm, on the Lismore repeater VK2RSC on 146.8 MHz, requiring a 123 Hz tone. Listen for VK2WIR. The Region is supporting two horse enduros in May, the Girrad event near Drake on the 5th and 6th, and the Spring Mountain event near Brisbane on the 19th and 20th.

The WICEN Mid North Coast Region monthly meeting is held on the first Saturday of the month, at SES HQ, Central Road, Port Macquarie, beginning at 15:30. The region is also experimenting with an HF net on Thursday evenings at 19:00, on the band-plan's WICEN frequency, 3.600MHz.

WICEN ACT is part of the Canberra Region Amateur Radio Club, and supports events in the ACT and the surrounding "Capital Country". The National Capital Rally will be the 1st to 3rd of June. June 9th and 10th is the SCSCC Bega Rally. Saturday, July 21st is pencilled-in as the BMSC Narooma Rally. The Club runs Foundation courses and all-level exams bi-monthly, the next being on May 19th and 20th. Their site is:
