December 17th will be the WICEN Christmas BBQ, with training sessions, and equipment maintenance day, here at Dural. Details will be emailed to members shortly

At short notice WICEN assisted with the Bridge 2 Bridge Ski Boat Race lase weekend. With 3 days notice the group provided approximately 16 operators, with CREST also providing valuable support. WICEN set up a VHF Hi-Band DMR network using IP linking, with the three repeaters strategically placed to provide coverage of the entire course.

Saturday, May 5th is Trek for Timor - Kangaroo Valley. This will be raising funds for second student accommodation house in Dili, for tertiary students; and scholarships. Further info is available at: http://www.kvrp.net.au

WICEN will be at the CCARC Field Day on Sunday, 25th February.

WICEN Northern Rivers has a weekly net on Tuesdays at 8:00pm, on the Lismore repeater VK2RSC on 146.8 MHz, requiring a 123 Hz tone. Listen for VK2WIR. Their next meeting is Sunday, 10th December at 1000.

The WICEN Mid North Coast Region monthly meeting is held on the first Saturday of the month, at SES HQ, Central Road, Port Macquarie, beginning at 15:30. The region is also experimenting with an HF net on Thursday evenings at 19:00, on the WICEN frequency, 28.450 MHz. The region is supporting the White Ribbon Walk today.

WICEN ACT is part of the Canberra Region Amateur Radio Club, and supports events in the ACT and the surrounding "Capital Country". Saturday, 24th February is the BMSC Rallye des Femme. The Club runs Foundation courses and all-level exams bi-monthly, except January, the next being March 16th and 17th. For more information visit: http://www.crarc.ampr.org

WICEN Victoria holds a net every Tuesday at 20:30 on or near 3.6 MHz. Next weekend, December 1st to 3rd is the Alpine Rally, which covers 700 km in East Gippsland. Just south of Wentworth, the Sunraysia Rally will be held in the far North-west corner of Victoria, on April 21st and 22nd. Their website is: http://vic.wicen.org.au
