Operators and a Commander are sought for the Kangaroo Valley - Remexio Partnership's Trek for Timor on Saturday, September 14th. This important event funds educational development, a community loan system, and support for land and water issues.

WICEN is likewise looking for extra operators, including one willing to be the event commander, for the Hounslow Classic, a running event in the upper Blue Mountains, on September 28th and 29th.

The next training session here at Dural will be Sunday, August 4th. In the meantime, members are encouraged to take advantage of the free courses offered by the Office of Emergency Management.

The WICEN Mid North Coast Region monthly meeting is held on the first Saturday of the month, at SES HQ, Central Road, Port Macquarie, beginning at 15:30. The region runs an HF net on Thursday evenings at 19:00, on the WICEN frequency, 3.600 MHz.

WICEN ACT is part of the Canberra Region Amateur Radio Club, and supports events in the "Capital Country" region, and on the South Coast. August 6th is the BMSC Narooma Rally. The ACTERA Brookvale Horse Endurance Ride is September 2nd and 3rd, straddling the NW border of the Territory. On October 4th and 5th WICEN is providing support for ANU's Inward Bound. The LCCC Monaro Stages, is Saturday October 19th; which coincides with JOTA. Fitz's Challenge is a cycling event on Sunday October 27th. For more info, visit: http://www.crarc.ampr.org

WICEN Victoria will be supporting the Eureka Rush on August 25th, around Beaufort, near Ballarat. September 20th to 22nd is Field Weekend, subject to confirmation. The Stockman's Rally is October 27th in Big River State Forest. Alpine Rally is November 29th to December 1st, around Lakes Entrance. The weekly net is on each Tuesday at 8:30 pm, on 3.6 MHz.
