True Grit, an obstacle course running event, concludes today, at Lower Portland in NW Sydney. The OCR World Championship 24 Hour is also there, next weekend, the 8th and 9th of June.

The BSAR Navshield will be held on the 22nd and 23rd of June, at Kanangra-Boyd National Park, in the western Blue Mountains area. As well as providing support and safety communications for the for the event, WICEN may enter a team, should competitors make themselves available.

The Glow Worm Tunnel Marathon at the historical Newnes, north of Lithgow, is June 15th and 16th.

September 14th and 15th is the Kangaroo Valley - Remexio Partnership's Trek for Timor. This funds education, local energy projects, and female leadership development in Timor Leste. See: http://kvrp.net.au

The Hounslow Classic is September the 28th and 29th, in the Blue Mountains.

Due to other events today there will be no training, but watch this space for the July 7th event.

For Facebook users, there is an official WICEN NSW page; and an informal national WICEN group. VRA NSW, of which WICEN is a member squad, is also on Facebook as VRANSW.

The WICEN Mid North Coast Region monthly meeting is held on the first Saturday of the month, at SES HQ, Central Road, Port Macquarie, beginning at 15:30. The region runs an HF net on Thursday evenings at 19:00, on the WICEN frequency, 3.600 MHz.

WICEN ACT is part of the Canberra Region Amateur Radio Club, and supports events in the "Capital Country" region, and on the South Coast. The SCSCC Bega Rally is next weekend, while the NSSCC "Rally of the Bay" at Bateman's Bay is the 29th. August 6th is the BMSC Narooma Rally. The ACTERA Brookvale Horse Endurance Ride is September 2nd and 3rd, on the NW border of the Territory. The LCCC Monaro Stages, named for the region near Cooma, is Saturday October 19th; which is also JOTA weekend. For more info, visit http://www.crarc.ampr.org
