WICEN NSW will be supporting the Dementia Australia Walk and Jog events. These are short Sunday morning events, typically packed up by noon, and ideal for new members.

The schedule is:

  • Hunter - Speers Point Park, on the shore of Awaba (aka Lake Macquarie) - March 31st
  • Western Sydney - Tench Reserve, Penrith - April 7th
  • Sydney - Leichhardt Oval #3, Lilyfield (the "Bay Run") - May 19th

April 7th is also a training day here at Dural. WICEN is intending to conduct training on the first Sunday of each month at ARNSW Dural.

True Grit, an obstacle course running event, is scheduled for the 1st and 2nd of June, and the OCR World Championship 24 hour on the 8th and 9th of June, both at Lower Portland, in outer NW Sydney.

The Glow Worm Marathon at Newnes is on June the 15th and 16th.

For Facebook users, there is an official WICEN NSW page; and an informal national WICEN group.

WICEN Northern Rivers has a weekly net on Tuesdays at 8:00pm, on the Lismore repeater VK2RSC on 146.8 MHz, requiring a 123 Hz tone. Listen for VK2WIR.

The WICEN Mid North Coast Region monthly meeting is held on the first Saturday of the month, at SES HQ, Central Road, Port Macquarie, beginning at 15:30. The region runs an HF net on Thursday evenings at 19:00, on the WICEN frequency, 3.600 MHz.

WICEN ACT is part of the Canberra Region Amateur Radio Club, and supports events in the "Capital Country" region, and on the South Coast. The Canberra Two Day walk is March the 30th and 31st. Friday May 10th and Saturday 11th are the BMSC National Capital Rally. The SCSCC Bega Rally is the 8th and 9th of June, while the NSSCC "Rally of the Bay" at Bateman's Bay is the 29th. WICEN Victoria will be supporting Duncan's Run, an ultra-marathon, on Saturday, March 23rd. The Kenda Rally, a motorcycle endurance event, is Sunday, May 5th. The Mallee Rally in spectacular Sea Lake is June 8th. The Sunraysia 400 has been cancelled, due to extreme drought. WICEN Victoria's site is: http://vic.wicen.org.au
