WICEN NSW, is a communications support squad of the NSW Volunteer Rescue Association.

Due to COVID-19 (Coronavirus) WICEN is cancelling participation in all but emergency activations, and moving training and meetings to its amateur DMR and non-amateur radio resources.

Short, twice daily nets are commencing tomorrow, Monday March 30th, using WICEN's Sydney repeaters, and daily on the DMARC Network using TG3810 on Timeslot 1. Note this TalkGroup (TG) is UA (user activated).

This move includes the training day, next Sunday, April 5th.

Members are also encouraged to take advantage of the free courses offered by the Office of Emergency Management, at: https://www.emtraining.nsw.gov.au/

While Dementia Australia Memory Walk and Jog events are being cancelled or postponed, it is possible to provide support via: https://memorywalk.com.au

BSAR's Navshield, which WICEN both supports, and is eligible to compete in, is listed for June 27th and 28th.

For Facebook users, there is an official WICEN NSW page; and an informal national WICEN group.

WICEN ACT is part of the Canberra Region Amateur Radio Club. The club is moving all events, including lectures, online or on-air. The BMSC "NatCap" Rally is postponed, as is June's Bega Rally. WICEN Victoria - The Data training day is May 23rd and 24th at Dramona Drive-in. The Eureka Rush Rally is listed for August 22nd and 23rd. The weekly net is on each Tuesday at 8:30 pm, on 3.6 MHz.
