WICEN NSW, is a communications support squad of the NSW Volunteer Rescue Association.

Due to COVID-19 (Coronavirus) WICEN is cancelling participation in all but emergency activations, and moving training and meetings to its amateur DMR and non-amateur radio resources. As indicated in a recent email, a weekly net is planned using DMR.

This move includes training on Sunday, April 5th.

Members are also encouraged to take advantage of the free courses offered by the Office of Emergency Management, at: https://www.emtraining.nsw.gov.au/

While Dementia Australia Memory Walk and Jog events are being cancelled or postponed, it is possible to provide support via: https://memorywalk.com.au

The Glow Worm Tunnel Marathon Weekend at Newnes is listed for June 13th and 14th. BSAR's Navshield, which WICEN both supports, and is eligible to compete in, is June 27th and 28th.

For Facebook users, there is an official WICEN NSW page; and an informal national WICEN group.

WICEN ACT is part of the Canberra Region Amateur Radio Club. The club is moving all events, including a lecture on LoRa online; or on-air. The BMSC "NatCap" Rally is postponed. The Canberra Two Day Walk is continuing in a modified format, without WICEN support. The Bega Rally is listed for June 6th and 7th. For more info visit: http://www.crarc.ampr.org

WICEN Victoria - Scheduled dates for Memory Walk and Jog events are: Melbourne on May 3rd, and Geelong on May 17th. Duncan's Run 100 has been moved to October 10th. The Kenda Motorbike Rally is May 3rd at Eildon. The Data training day is May 23rd and 24th at Dramona Drive-in. The Mallee Rally is cancelled for non-COVID-19 reasons.
