WICEN NSW, is a communications support squad of the NSW Volunteer Rescue Association, or VRA.

Due to COVID-19 WICEN is limiting operations, and has moved meetings to its amateur and non-amateur radio resources.

The WICEN Chatswood 2 metre repeater, 147.150 MHz, will be operating on a back-up antenna for the next week or so, while waterproofing works are undertaken on the building's roof, providing reduced coverage. The 23cm repeater, on 1273.200 MHz, remains ON-AIR. The 78.15 MHz WICEN mid-band repeater is OFF AIR.

Alternative WICEN repeaters available for use are the VHF R52 DMR and VHF mid-band repeaters at Warks Hill, plus Kurrajong and Berowra 70cm linked repeaters.

The HCC Race Committee is continuing preparations for the 2020 Hawkesbury Canoe Classic on October 24th and 25th, subject to "Return to Sport" rules. A decision will be made in the beginning of September whether to proceed with the event. WICEN assistance at the Canoe Classic will depend on the NSW Public Health Orders in place. The event supports "Arrow, The Bone Marrow Transplant Foundation":
