WICEN has been asked to provide communications support for the
Bushwalker's Wilderness Rescue Squad's Operational Exercise, or OPEX,
at Winburndale Nature Reserve, 35kms north-east of Bathurst, on the
weekend of 22nd and 23rd of March.

Chris Meaghe has advised that on the weekend 1 to 2 March, WICEN
Northern Rivers conducted a training exercise in the Girard State
Forest, west of Drake NSW. Tests were conducted with a 70cm portable
repeater situated on Mt. Richmond, 995m ASL, overlooking the area to
be used for the forthcoming horse enduro run by the Tenterfield
Equestrian Club. Tests were also conducted with a simplex 'parrot'
repeater systems from Argent Data (US) on 2 metres. Participants were
VK2's AGC, ARD, AJD, ACD, DLR and EA

WICEN ACT is part of the Canberra Region Amateur Radio Club, the
successor of the ACT division of the WIA. Their website at

Sister Squad, the Bushwalker's Wilderness Rescue Squad will be running
their four day Comprehensive Remote Area First Aid over the weekends
of 3 and 4 May, and 17 and 18 May at North Wahroonga.
