A Barbeque for members is planned for Sunday, 7 December here at Dural, commencing at midday. Those wishing to attend need to RSVP to operations@nsw.wicen.org.au by Thursday 4th December, to allow for catering. This follows the debrief specifically for those who took part in the recent search in the Kanangra Boyd National Park.

WICEN will have a stand at the Central Coast Amateur Radio Club's Wyong Field Day on 22 February 2015. The more who volunteer, the shorter shifts can be.

While there are typically few, if any, planned events over the summer period, it is the time of year which WICEN is most often activated, generally related to bushfires or severe storms, so it pays to be prepared for activations.

WICEN has a twitter account: @wicennsw

Twitter is a free website, allowing short posts from people and organisations which the user chooses to follow to be read; as well as post on specific topics and developing stories, using "hashtags". Intending users can register at http://twitter.com. Many smartphones come with the twitter application installed.

Facebook users will find the official WICEN New South Wales page, an informal national WICEN group, and at least one interstate group.

WICEN ACT is part of the Canberra Region Amateur Radio Club, and supports events in the ACT and surrounding areas. The club's website at http://www.crarc.ampr.org includes details of both WICEN and general events, including training.

Coming events include:

Members' Barbeque Lunch at Dural on Sunday 7 December
CCARC's Wyong Field Day on Sunday 22 February 2015
