The Hawkesbury Canoe Classic, and the shorter Wisemans Dash will be on the 27th and 28th of October. These form one of WICEN's largest events, in terms of number of operators required, and raise funds for the ARROW Bone Marrow Transplant Foundation.

Volunteer Memorial Day is Sunday, October 14th.

On Sunday November 18th there will be a WICEN training day at ARNSW Dural with topics including network design, message passing, and repeater trailer setup and operation. More details will be given closer to the day. Please email operations@nsw.wicen.org.au if you are attending.

For Facebook users, there is an official WICEN NSW page, and an informal national WICEN group.

WICEN Northern Rivers has a weekly net on Tuesdays at 8:00pm, on the Lismore repeater VK2RSC on 146.8 MHz, requiring a 123 Hz tone. Listen for VK2WIR. Their next meeting is Sunday, October 14th at 10:00.

The WICEN Mid North Coast Region monthly meeting is held on the first Saturday of the month, at SES HQ, Central Road, Port Macquarie, beginning at 15:30. The region is also running an HF net on Thursday evenings at 19:00, on the WICEN frequency, 3.600 MHz.

WICEN ACT is part of the Canberra Region Amateur Radio Club, and supports events in the "Capital Country" region, and on the South Coast. The ACTERA Brookvale Horse Endurance Ride, crossing the NW border of the Territory concludes today. October has the ANU "Inward Bound" adventure race on the 5th and 6th; with a new event, the LCCC Monaro Stages on Saturday the 20th. WICEN Victoria is supporting the October Field Weekend at Lauriston Scout Camp in the Macedon Ranges, on the 5th to 7th; and the Stockman's Rally at Big River on Sunday, October 28th. The Peninsula Shire Communications Exercise in Mornington is Saturday November 10th. The group holds a net on 3.6 MHz each Tuesday at 8:30 pm.
