WICEN will be at the CCARC Field Day Sunday, February 25th. Members may wish to use this opportunity to pay your annual membership, which is $15.

Saturday, May 5th is Trek for Timor - Kangaroo Valley, raising funds for student accommodation and scholarships in Timor Leste.

New to the calendar are four Dementia Australia Memory Walk and Jog events, each held on a Sunday morning. These are: Stuart Park, North Wollongong on March 4th; Tench Reserve, Penrith on March 25th; Leichhardt Oval #3, Lilyfield on May 6th; and the Hunter event at Speers Point Park, on May 25th.

True Grit, on June 2nd and 3rd will be followed by the Obstacle Course Racing World Championship the next weekend, the 9th and 10th, both at Lower Portland.

Navshield is somewhere in the Sydney region on June 23rd and 24th. As well as providing communication support, there is the possibility of a WICEN team, including as a Saturday only entry. There is a planning meeting on Tuesday, February 27th.

WICEN Northern Rivers has a weekly net on Tuesdays at 8:00pm, on the Lismore repeater VK2RSC on 146.8 MHz, requiring a 123 Hz tone. Listen for VK2WIR. Their meeting was this morning at 10:00 am.

The WICEN Mid North Coast Region monthly meeting is held on the first Saturday of the month, at SES HQ, Central Road, Port Macquarie, beginning at 15:30. The region is also experimenting with an HF net on Thursday evenings at 19:00, on the WICEN frequency, 28.450 MHz.

WICEN ACT is part of the Canberra Region Amateur Radio Club, and supports events in the ACT and the surrounding "Capital Country". Saturday, February 24th is the BMSC Rallye des Femme, for female drivers. Easter Sunday, April 1st, is the National Carriage Driving Championships at Witwood, and the Canberra Two Day Walk on the 7th and 8th. The National Capital Rally will be the 1st to 3rd of June. WICEN Victoria holds a net every Tuesday at 20:30 on or near 3.6 MHz. Field Weekend at Yea runs from Friday, March 2nd to Sunday 4th. A car event, the Eureka Rally around Ballarat is March 3rd and 4th. Duncan's Run in the Tarra Bulga State Forest is listed tentatively for Saturday, March 24th. The Sunraysia Safari Rally will be held in the far north-west corner of Victoria, south of Wentworth, on April 21st and 22nd, as will a 4WD event at Toolangi State Forest.
