WICEN is supporting four Dementia Australia Memory Walk and Jog events, each held on a Sunday morning. The final one is the Hunter event at Speers Point Park, on May 20th. These are great "on-the-job" training events for new members.

True Grit, on the 2nd and 3rd of June will be followed by the Obstacle Course Racing World Championship on Friday the 8th and Saturday the 9th, both at Lower Portland, north-west Sydney.

The recce for the VH-MDX "Barrington SAREX" in mid September will be next weekend.

The 30th Navshield, a bush navigation contest, held within 4 hours' drive of Sydney, is on June 23rd and 24th.

WICEN Northern Rivers has a weekly net on Tuesdays at 8:00pm, on the Lismore repeater VK2RSC on 146.8 MHz, requiring a 123 Hz tone. Listen for VK2WIR. The Region is supporting two horse enduros in May, the Girrad event near Drake on the 5th and 6th, and the Spring Mountain event near Brisbane on the 19th and 20th.

The WICEN Mid North Coast Region monthly meeting is held on the first Saturday of the month, at SES HQ, Central Road, Port Macquarie, beginning at 15:30. The region is also experimenting with an HF net on Thursday evenings at 19:00, on the band-plan's WICEN frequency, 3.600 MHz.

WICEN ACT is part of the Canberra Region Amateur Radio Club, and supports events in the ACT and the surrounding "Capital Country". The National Capital Rally will be the 1st to 3rd of June. June 9th and 10th is the SCSCC Bega Rally. Saturday, July 21st is pencilled-in as the BMSC Narooma Rally. See the WICEN and Events pages on: http://www.crarc.ampr.org

CRARC also runs Foundation courses and all-level exams bi-monthly, the next one for which bookings can be made is in July.

WICEN Victoria's next event is the Mallee Rally is 9th and 10th of June at the Lake Tyrell in Sealake. The group holds a net on 3.6 MHz each Wednesday at 8:30 pm local time. Visit: http://vic.wicen.org.au
